The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

I don’t have any Christmas singles, but I bought this picture disc a few weeks ago.

Funny, isn’t it, that Gary Glitter’s Christmas single got pulled years ago due to his awful crimes. Phil Spector’s record doesn’t appear to have suffered, despite him murdering a woman.

Some new ones. It’s the 3rd copy of the Tymes single I’ve bought and at last I have a clean copy!

Dog Eared by the fabulous Yorkshire folk-popster Billie Marten. She’s yet to make an album that’s less than fantastic. This will be one of my top 5.

Me and Jimmy V were unlucky that the gig of hers in Leeds that we were going to was on a night where the flooding stopped us getting there

It’s very satisfying when a price sticker comes straight off a 40 year old record without a fight, or taking a chunk of the sleeve with it, isn’t it?

Here’s 16 new (old) LPs I’ve been really pleased to get this year, some of which had been near the top of my wants list for some time.

This was supposed to be my top 20 albums of 2025 that I have on LP/CD, but I miscounted, so it’s a top 21. My 3 favourite albums this year are:

1 - F.L.A.W. by Napoleon da Legend & Giallo Point
2 - Flux by Alison Goldfrapp
3 - Antidepressants by Suede

Re solo Beatles. Are we considering McCartney as Paul’s debut, rather than his soundtrack for The Family Way?

And are we considering Plastic Ono Band as John’s solo debut, rather than Live Peace in Toronto or the three ‘Unfinished Music’ albums he did with Yoko?

Unless we decide Paul McCartney’s solo debut was McCartney, rather than the soundtrack to The Family Way, my 5 will come from this selection.

Some more new singles. Really pleased with the Harry Nilsson promo. And the Stones’ version of You Better Move On is one of my favourite tracks of theirs.

After being skint for months I finally have a bit of money to buys records with, so here’s some singles I bought this week.

A couple of crackers too, as the B-Side of the Prefab Sprout one is Cruel & the B-Side of the Madness one is Bed and Breakfast Man (which is why I bought it)

Hi, you may remember me asking you whether you took the title of the first Jo and Danny LP from a Lilac Time song, before you told me you (and therefore Stephen Duffy) had taken it from Don’t Look Back.

Well, I’ve just been reading an old review of a Lilac Time LP…

3 fab new 12” singles that arrived yesterday. And if these three songs aren’t enough there’s a great live cover of Badfinger’s brilliant No Matter What on the B-Side of the Jellyfish single. Powerpoptastic!

I was lucky enough to start watching TOTP and taking an interest in the charts at a time when truly great singles were being released and being successful.

The first single I bought was Pop Muzik and I got the other 3 in the first photo next. And here’s 12 more early singles I had

Why are all the magazines and record shops announcing their ‘albums of the year’ in November? Barely in November for Mojo and Uncut. Are they just guessing that any other albums coming out will be rubbish?

Been a bit busy rearranging all my records, so haven’t had time to go through the singles boxes, but here’s a photo of my new LP shelves, courtesy of Jimmy Viz.

I’d write what my daughter said when she saw what I’d done, but I don’t think it would get through the swear filter.

I collect all sorts of things besides records. Too many things! Footy programmes, comics, trading cards, all things James Bond and Batman related, and autographs of people I admire (or whose work I admire in some cases). So this weekend it’s singles by people I have autographs of.

Listen Without Prejudice is great, but I think They Won’t Go When I Go is a dirge. The original isn’t much better.

If you know Disraeli Gears you already know which track I’m talking about. If not, turn it off before the last track. You’ll thank me!

4 fab rap albums to consider.

The Left - Gas Mask
Quakers - Quakers
Kooley High - Eastern Standard Time
Edward Scissortongue - Better. Luck. Next. Time.

All worthy of your time, if you haven’t heard them.

Not sure what my other 4 will be yet (i.e. I need to work out which albums are debuts!), but John Grant’s Queen of Denmark will almost certainly be my No.1.

Once we get into the 21st century it gets a bit tricky to determine what a debut album is. In hip hop you get a stack of different rapper/producer pairings, each of whom could lay claim to umpteen ‘debut’ albums.

And then there are those who record under umpteen different names…

Sodding heck. I remembered it was Tuesday when I was at the cinema, watching a rubbish rom-com that my daughter wanted to see. So a bit later than planned, here’s part 3 of my 80s theme, 20 favourite 80s 12” Singles. Well, sort of favourites anyway.

16 favourite 80s B-Sides, the names of which are in the alt. text.

I had to use the 12” for some of them, because the one by The Dream Academy is only on the 12”. It’s a superior version (according to me!) of one of their best album tracks.
