I love walking down this local lane, particularly in Autumn. An old farmer’s track with high banks and trees all the way. Seems to go on forever. #Autumn #Nature #Photography

No wraith way, no corpse lane is ever less than ghost-crowded. Yet just as roads to market or the races are thronged on certain days, as we approach Allhallowtide they become congested by spirits. From distant villages to the boneyard gates and lychgate termini a rush of spectres walk. – #CLNolan

Having lunch under a tree in Chester Cathedral gardens. The pigeons have had enough but now getting hunted down by squirrels.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cockier pigeon.

This is why I never answer the doorbell on Halloween night.

#BLACKEYEDCHILDREN / #BLACKEYEDKIDS Superficially they resemble human children with pale skin and black eyes. They are reportedly seen begging or hitchhiking, or are encountered on doorsteps of residential homes. These beings are alleged to be inhuman creatures attempting to impersonate children.

Thanks Andrea. I can sum myself up in one word lately. Uninspired.

Having a look through my old poetry books. Some are crappy, some are half-decent. I wrote this passage over 23 years ago and I still feel this way. #poem #poetry

Magic always exists in a cultural context because believers in it are never free from their point in time and space. Yet the cultural context of magic also comes from distant places and periods. We embrace this paradox to explore practices that are simultaneously modern and cave-old. - Dr. M. Benn

Watching #IslandOfTerror. Can’t go wrong with a Peter Cushing #Horror. Something is abroad on a remote island community off the east coast of Ireland, turning its inhabitants and animals into rubberised corpses, devoid of bones. It’s quite amusing.😆

It’s a beautiful overcast, autumn day in the Catskills. All of the wildlife are preparing for winter and I’m excited to be walking around in a hoodie again. #nature #photography #catskills #newyork #landscape
A photo of a fawn looking towards the camera, there is a decaying trees stump behind her. A photo of the Delaware River on a cloudy day. There is a forested landscape along the banks.

I actually don’t mind them usually. No phobia or anything. At night though, when they’re scurrying out right in front of you, I’m not so keen!😆

I had one walking alongside me this morning at 6am. I think I was being serenaded.

The absolute worst thing about this 15 minute walk from the bus stop to work (in the dark) is negotiating the many rats. It’s amazing how many you see in urban areas at night. They absolutely put the creeps up me! 🐀🐀🐀

I must admit, after 5 nightshifts, I’m looking forward to one tomorrow. I never drink between shifts.

How many have you had?😆

Autumn, Yorkshire Dales, four years ago today.

#OnThisDay #YorkshireDales
View down a series of valleys and folds in the sides of large hills. The hillsides are criss-crossed by dry stone walls and there are clumps of trees scattered across the slopes. Sunlight is falling in patches on the landscape below.

The year withers. Dead paths across the ghost soil are revealed. Colder magics rise. Our boots are muddied, we begin to breath like dragons. Our witcheries turn with the season and our ancestors talk a little louder. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
