Newly married, new job, plenty of old stuff. Normie bouge-core since late 2018. Sadly not my dune buggy in the photo, but I know fine art when I see it

I do think yesterday’s results reinforced the dynamic that while much of the American leadership class is chickenshit, most of the electorate is not

I’m just a small-town political scientist, & it’s still relatively early, but it appears that The Actual Democrats did not Need To Do any of the Things or Learn any of the Obvious Lessons that Ezra Douthglesias said they Must Do & Learn.

I think of this graphic every day.
My semi-regular reminder of a really important reality about cities, density, services and taxes.

Look folks gen AI videos are out in the wild so if you weren't already being careful about sharing rage bait videos then now is a great time to start

If you can't trace a video back to a trusted source then I recommend leaving it where it is, like a slice of bologna you found on the street
Somehow I’m glad I’m watching this game through Bluesky posts and Google score updates, and not in real time
Bases loaded, one out, no runs just means they’ll want it more next inning right? Like having to leave a perfect dinner because the meter’s about to run out?
I just accidentally changed the temperature on my wife’s wine fridge from Fahrenheit to Celsius while opening the door. This must mean good luck for the Jays
Or a single _______ team
Or a $200,000 down payment if you live in California?
I remember pressing a CD for one of my old bands and was informed by the company that our background color was too close to “Weezer Blue” so they had to change it. Now I just think it was Pantone 2382 CP that was the issue, but would a punk band have known what that meant? (No. Not then, anyway.)
Looking forward to reading this. As a native Minnesotan, I’m still astonished sometimes in what has been in the water there to inspire such vital bands that have stood the test of time.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

It’s kind of wild to be held to legitimate, necessary, ethical, and justifiable standards as a professional, then every time I open this app I see examples of the most depraved people doing the exact opposite. The center can’t hold forever, but it sure will try.
Same, but now find-and-replaced Yankees with Dodgers.

It’s weird to live where Dodger greatness is just assumed while also living close enough to Angel Stadium to hear their fireworks louder than the Disneyland fireworks. I’m amazed that anyone puts up with being an Angels fan
Having spent two years in Toronto for grad school but no longer paying attention to baseball much, I’d like the Jays to save a few of these bonus runs for the next couple of games to use against the Yankees
Growing up in MN meant my childhood costume dreams met the harsh reality of changing seasons. Living in OC now and having a house where kids will come to trick or treat (vs. an apartment where no one does that) means I’m taking off work early to make sure I can pass out candy to neighbor kids.
At the very least, try and get more than 24 rushing yards?
I like how the Recommended article at the end has Ohtani in an Angels uniform, as though it’s a simultaneous alternate timeline, one where the Angels owner is not a complete buffoon
If a study of protein bars is in the offing, I (along with millions of others) will be all ears
Had I not had the benefit of reduced tuition in 1990, community college may well have been my route. Today’s non-wealthy students have more challenges to overcome than ever, and the importance of this kind of education in a fractured political landscape has rarely been more evident.
