We could be strict but if we refuse to actually support the system we can't expect it to work fairly regardless of how harsh or lenient it may be at the core.

I'm not saying the laws are good to begin with but strict enforcement of laws that are key to an inadequately funded system are never going to be anything but harsh.

There is being strict on enforcing the laws but when this is not coupled with the allocation of sufficient resources to actually facilitate the process it is the immigrant that suffers. When asylum claims take an average of 1200+ days to process the system itself is broken and strict becomes harsh.

As a player, I rethink everything past so much that it's about all I do. It kind of builds suspense to see the consequences of my (our) actions.

As GM, I try to focus on what the players are must likely to do based on that I've given them. If I'm not sure what they're thinking I use our text continuation between sessions to probe for info and highlight key events.

Just loving listening to @maydayroleplay.bsky.social on Twitch while working. Not that I'm suggesting you do something enjoyable while working but it's surely an option...a good one. Mathing numbers, strong coffee, and quality role playing in the background is a great way to pass time till kickoff.

It's hard to be active online sometimes. The need to supplement income in these trying times conflicts with need to be serious, it feels writing to even consider trying to start selling ttrpg content amidst the collapse of our society. But how else can we endure if we can't have an outlet also? 😕
