It’s super cool to find #printmaking friends here (something I never really did on twitter!) My name is Alexis, and I’m a printmaker and illustrator specializing in relief prints. I live just outside of Washington DC with my husband Ben and our two black cats, Lumi and Sully.

Packing up the weekend orders today; today we have lots of food prints, including a trio of Vinho Verde prints and a couple of panettone prints. Christmas must be coming…

Favorite yogurts/skyrs: Fage, Icelandic Provisions, Siggi’s. ALDI plain Greek yogurt is also quite good, and cheap.

My three favorite tools that I use the most are a very small v tool from flexcut for detail/line work, a deep V from speedball and a wider u-shaped gauge from pfeil for clearing out larger areas. I use a sharpening tool/compound called SlipStrop from flexcut to keep them sharp!

To the guy with pamphlets in both back pockets doing a little “shave and a haircut” knock on the door on a Saturday afternoon: not today, satan.

life as a a full-time artist: social media strategize, pivot constantly, market yourself but don't seem desperate, output a bunch of work and pray people like it, highs and lows and in between, you will never not be thinking about art but only 25% of your time will actually be spent making it.

I cordially invite you to do a Scrooge McDuck dive into my giant pile of ancient Halloween decorations.
Very old Halloween decorations. Two of which were seen in the 1988 smash hit, Halloween 4.
