There are lines which, if crossed, would render the federal government illegitimate. Meaning, a large number of Americans — including many governors, judges, and legislators — would collectively decide they owed no obedience or loyalty to any political authority beyond their state governments.

I'l reiterate a point I've seen several other people make tonight: if Schumer is a "no" vote on this surrender but enough Democrats vote for it to pass anyway, then it is proof positive of his incompetence and ineffectiveness as Minority Leader and he must resign from that position immediately.
