Garry Trudeau was mocking Trump's deeply pathetic & narcissistic need to name things after himself 38 yrs ago.

11.2088 - Trump renames himself after himself.

And the Kennedy Center will retain its rightful, legal name long after the GOP pretends they never really supported him all that much.

It's funny, when I got shut down on the senate floor the other day for talking about the legislature's corporate owners, Sen. McKell was the one who called a point of order to stop my speech & the lobbyists mentioned here have publicly criticized me.

This seems so quaint now, the goalposts have moved so far to tolerating Trump's evil ass qq,¹ because support for Trump is a load bearing element for The Powers That Be that control our media and social media
ok everyone's seen the trump with epstein photos by now, after years of the media pretending they didn't exist. good progress. next step is making sure everyone who is like "uh this all is sketchy but surely the president isn't literally a pedophile" sees this gross photo

I met Melissa Hortman in October of 2024. She was smart and kind. I heard about her murder in a LA hotel room and it dropped me to my knees. So I went to Minnesota and talked to her kids, parents, and friends. This is not true crime, this is Melissa in real life. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Yesterday, the U.S. House passed HR 3492 by just 5 votes. The bill would criminalize gender affirming care. In 2023, Utah passed a bill sponsored by now-U.S. Rep. Mike Kennedy that banned the practice. The bill called for a study & for the policy to be revisited when the study was complete.

The Fairness Doctrine was dropped in 1987.

It never required fact-checking, nor did it apply to news. It applied to local broadcast stations' editorial content only. It did not mandate equal time/audience, nor truth. At most, you could argue it required competing lies.

The FCC was clear on this.
The FCC, rejecting a complaint by a right-wing group that the left-leaning Pacifica stations were mean to Reagan, wrote:
"The Commission is neither the national arbiter of the "truth" of a news event nor the judge of the wisdom, accuracy or adequacy with which it may have been handled on the air. "
