Face of a very large sunflower the size of a dinner plate. The petals have mostly withered. Hundreds of black and white seeds are starting to emerge from the textured dark yellow pollen areas. The visible seeds are a bit of a jagged stripe diagonally across the face of the flower.

I got both flu A and flu B earlier this year even though I got a flu shot last fall and I was very sick both times for longer than I was sick with covid. Can't imagine how much worse it would have been if I hadn't gotten the flu shot.

My kid will never* know a world or a time when he has any expectation of any level of privacy or anonymity. It's a weird thing to think about.

*Presuming we don't have a post-apocalyptic situation within his lifetime

A thing I think a lot about is how a huge change from when I was growing up is how surveilled everyone is at all times, just about everywhere, and how many people voluntarily buy into it by installing their own systems, internal and external. And phones are surveilling you everywhere you take them.
