some more unicorn birds I've been meaning to post for a while!
A digital illustration of a white bird with a unicorn horn jutting out of its forehead. It stands with wings folded and looking behind itself to a star sitting at beak level. The background of the illustration is a vivid yellow. Another illustration of a white unicorn bird, this time facing away from the viewer with its wings spread and tail raised.

ah almost forgot to post this here!
Alright so an update on how stuff is going regarding the online store:

The good news: Postal offices and online selling

platforms have figured out the shit show of US tariffs and I should be able to set up a tariff collection system for the online store just fine!

Only some of my stuff qualifies as CUSMA compliant/tariff exempt ie. my ceramic work, prints, stickers, certain apparel items. If I wanted to send it to the States I'd have to have all my declared item inventory certified by an agent at a separate shipping entity who then hands it off to Canada Post.

Every single item must also have a made in Canada label present.

There's no way my online store can separate CUSMA compliant/non compliant items so I think I'll just have to bite the bullet on charging tariffs on everything and make sure everyone gets freebies!

The bad news: Canada Post is on strike again so I'll just have to get shop set up to go in the meantime and be patient and do more local markets!

these ones I only have photos from before glaze firing lol

I'll have to post the rest of the sculptures and wares soon! :-)

A ceramic creature with a black and pink striped body. Its mouth hangs open, showcasing little sharp teeth while bright eyes look about.
Another striped creature, this time orange and light peach colored. Its mouth is closed in a toothy smile and little black horn nubs protrude from its forehead.

Some sold work from vending last month that I didn't have time to document!

1/2
A brown ceramic goat with black stripes running down its back, and head angled down to showcase its large, swooped back horns. A little sandy brown ceramic creature with a black head and big staring eyes. Black stripes run down its body and break up into little flecks by its legs. A chartreuse mug with a floral barn quilt pattern in the middle. Half rolled up little isopods frame it.

it looks like I should be able to get a tariff collection system set up for my online store soon! 🤞

thank you!! :) I think I should be able to get a tariff collection system set up for my online store soon!

it looks like the majority of online selling platforms have implemented tariff collections systems by now so I'll be trying to get that figured out and set up soon!

Got another upcoming market I'll be vending at on the 27th this month, at Dundas Place in London, Ontario!

Been super busy these past two weeks getting sculptures and pottery made to have lots of ceramic work alongside every else I sell.

oop, in London, Ontario by the way!
I'm too used to just tagging the location on IG lol

The studio I work at, Clayworx will be having a popup booth at the Western Fair Market - 900 King Street this weekend!

We'll be on the second floor beside the cafe seating and will feature information about the facilities and classes along with work for sale by two studio mates and yours truly :)

I'll keep my eye on the situation and see if I can incorporate them into my shipping setup if Canada Post doesn't get things sorted out soon!

So I've been recommended Chit Chats before but it shut down in London but was just recommended Stallion Express and there is one on the outskirts of the city. It's a 45 minute round trip but that's infinitely better than nothing at all.

In other news, the new tees and tanks are available online - just give me a shout if you wanted to pick one up locally :)

Fingers crossed that Canada Post gets things sorted out for CUSMA compliant goods soon 🫠
So I thought I should be able to ship at least some stuff to the states with paperwork tariff free that are CUSMA compliant ie. my ceramic work, the ceramicist united apparel as its printed on clothes made in Mexico, stuff like big prints that doesn't fit in letter mail etc. but found out that a 35% tariff is still being forced upon Canadian CUSMA compliant stuff being send with mail carriers like Canada Post (pretty much my only option here)

I don't know how many people would want to pay that tariff (and then their individual states import fees) so I think I may only be able to ship letter mail to the states until President Dumbass is out of office or croaks and then hope de minimus is reimplemented .

Thankfully I'm fortunate enough that I have other options to try and make up for the huge amount of lost income and have been applying for more local gigs and teaching roles, and can start picking up more commissions again as needed . 😮‍💨

I've seen 4" variegated monsteras anywhere between $45-100cad so I'll certainly take $25!
pansybeast.bsky.social
Popped over to Giant Tiger to just grab some toilet paper and discovered that store of all places (???) had very fairly priced thai constellation monsteras, so naturally took the scrawniest but very boldy coloured one home😅
Rows of variegated "thai constellation" monstera plants in 4 inch pots on a wooden crate. The label below them reads "$24.97" The thai constellation monstera I bought. Its main and largest leaf is pure white with a single speck of green chlorophyll fighting for its life. The white pigment of the leaves can't photosynthesize so the white leaf is entirely relying on the others! The same new monstera next to its big brother, a standard green monstera deliciosa which dwarfs the new one in size.

realized I never posted this ceramic charm I made last year, I forgot to take a photo of it glaze fired and it sold at an in person event so a simple photo of it at bisqueware with pencil sketch marks it is! :)
