Deep emission cuts before mid-century decisive to reduce long-term sea-level rise legacy
Rising seas are irreversible on human time scales and among the most severe consequences of climate change.

was there ever anyone who personified ‘pot calling the kettle black’ more?
This is truly deranged behavior. Also illegal. Also devastating to America’s standing, our economy and the well being of a vital ally. And the enablers and the passive observers and defenders in Congress and the normalizers in the media are all complicit.
President Donald Trump says on social media that he is ending “all trade negotiations” with Canada because of recent television ads protesting U.S. tariffs.
reform is not really a new party is it though
Well done Plaid! what a shame ‘Starmer’s govt rejected PR and hasn’t actually behaved like Labour since being handed a huge majority by millions of now deeply disappointed voters
Scale of Plaid win in Caerphilly is significant, not least because of what it says about the potential for progressive tactical voting in (relatively) high turnout elections to block Reform. Voters in this race knew it was a Plaid-Reform contest and voted accordingly.
I will!👍🏻
Back hosting Have I Got News For You tonight at 9 on BBC1. Hope you can join me with Paul, Ian, Sophie Rydge and Julian Clary ❤️
a bit disappointing that the new Archbishop of Canterbury didn’t seem to be at the Vatican visit - isn’t shevthe most senior person in C of E?🤔 (only slightly interested as an atheist but morecsomas a woman)
R4WATO - why do discussions about birthrates never look at the fact that the whole world is over populated and about to collapse. Since Becker the population has doubled. What limited understanding those who are supposed to inform us have.
yes but then again that is Helen Whateley
The Tories - We let a million people in but it was a mistake. @lewisgoodall.com - A mistake is leaving your car keys at home. 😂😂😂😂

good to hear - monetarism has driven the inequality that is at the heart of all our economic problems and, arguably, the at tge root of the rise of right-wing populism - imo

‘The threat couldn’t be more urgent and imminent. Yet here we are, still putting our head in the sand.’

@carolecadwalla.bsky.social says it’s ‘peculiar’ that the case of Farage ally Nathan Gill admitting to making pro-Russia speeches for cash isn’t being followed more closely.
Kemi Badenoch really is a vile human being - not a fan of the Tories but really where ha pve the decent ones gone
presumably to the Donald Trump benevolent charity…
The response from DoJ is likely to be: "Would you like a wire transfer or cash?"
Trump: "It's awfully strange to make a decision where I'm paying myself. But I was damaged very greatly and any money I would get I would give to charity."

Ah the challenges of a modern world and digital exclusion.

Age Concern is campaigning for a more accessible world & we have written about it...

The cartoon 👇 may be funny, the reality not.
Trump must be feeling happy that Andrew is the focus of Epstein files at the moment
JCB boss saying on R4Today you can’t tax your way to growth - well that really depends on what you do with the tax doesn’t it?
just seen Jenrick saying the public are sick of seeing Prince Andrew - true - but you know who else I am also sick of seeing…
we also need to reduce energy consumption instead of ramping it up by the use of all IT as if it is all positive
Tackling the cost of living crisis goes hand in hand with tackling the climate crisis.

We need food security, insulated homes, and cheap renewable energy.
UK food inflation is being driven by climate change-induced extreme weather, driving up price of butter, milk, beef, chocolate & coffee

The price rises in those staples is contributing 40% of overall food inflation

Climate change is hitting peoples' pockets, right now

if only Labour had introduced PR parties with shared values, and those that reflect millions whose votes counted for v little, they could be working together

So wait…

Is Tel Aviv now a no-go area for Jews?

Are Maccabi Tel Aviv antisemitic for attacking Jews and Jewish police?

Are Tel Aviv police antisemitic for blocking Jews from a game of football?

Would I be antisemitic for criticising Israelis (and therefore all Jews globally) for rioting?
