I am highly concerned and aware of what is going on politically at the moment. I am using this platform to have somewhere to get away from all that.
Because of that, please do not be offended if I don't follow you back on mostly politicaly themed channels. Thank you.
Nick Stevens asked me some questions about generative AI and models. It sent me down a rabbit hole and I found out a few things that are pretty disturbing. TurboSquid and CGTrader have deals to train generative AI on their model catalogues. Note: "ethically-sourced"

His art is highly stylised, yet nails the likeness. The character's souls come off the paper. I love his stuff.

We had a twitch streamer cover our Duke mod. He used the wrong render settings while knocking the graphics. He also didn't link back to the ModDB page.
Streamers, please drop a link to where you got the mod from. You are using us for publicity. Please return the favour. Also, read the read me.

If Blender, or Wikipedia, or any other free service has made your life better in any way, please do consider giving something back, even if it's only a small, one time donation.
Blender is struggling. it's the best piece of 3d software on the market, and it's free. I'm not going back to autodesk.
please donate if you can!

A brilliant interview with Magnus Møller from Tumblehead Studios. Advertised as how they switched to Houdini, but he gives a lot of insight into how they started the studio and what is involved in running it.

Anyone who thought that having WhatsApp handily available on your Windows desktop was a great idea needs to rethink their chatting strategy! Up to 3 Gigs of Ram for active chats! This is ridiculous. www.windowslatest.com/2025/11/12/m...
Meta just killed native WhatsApp on Windows 11, now it opens WebView, uses 1GB RAM all the time
Windows 11 has just got a 'major' upgrade, and you're probably going to hate it because it uses 1-2GB RAM all the time.

I've been warning people that the American right wing are trying to infiltrate England. To those who tell me "It can't happen here." I say: "Brexit". It HAS happened here and unless people wake up, it will happen again.
This is really excellent data journalism... Elon Musk has declared war on the British government, it just doesn't realise it.

I remember these! Got to admit that I too took the plunge and got into flash animations. I actually wound up applying to a famous sex toy manufacturer as a flash animator. I didn't get the gig, but it was an experience.
It wasn't deep. It didn't have much to say. But Xiao Xiao inspired millions to try Flash animation for themselves.

A Beijing artist made this series -- and turned stick fights into a phenomenon. We're exploring why and how he did it:

I love the flow. How the expressions morph. How the bear seems to be made of water at times. It's beautiful.
You've seen Aaron Blaise's animation—he was a big deal on Disney's Mulan, Beauty and the Beast and more.

Behind his work is a whole creative philosophy. Blaise broke it down for us, and explained why his new film is the most rewarding he's ever done:
