The words always made Becca smile. It was a layered expression, full of pride and happiness and genuine joy, but with a smattering of shameful guilt she could never quite get rid of.

The kiss on her hand made Becca blush as well. But on top of that, her lip quivered for a moment. Maybe it was the words.
"I love you," she said softly, a smile wrenching its way through whatever struggle happened on her face in those breaths. "We are amazing." Not a lot of confidence, but still.
