My daughter went to a friends party yesterday. Partly on a boat and partly at the beach. We did the whole “do you have sunblock?” routine. Came home fried. Sad face.

I took a class on it once! Utterly fascinating. Look up reminiscence bump if you haven’t heard of it - autobiographical memories tend to be more vivid and numerous from a certain phase of life.

Been rather dispiriting how much ink has been spilled by the gallery on MP expenses, while the report into mutual obligations has been pretty much ignored. @amyremeikis.bsky.social is on it #ThePoint (what is The Point? It’s not news, but it SHOULD be)

The welfare system isn’t just on fire, it’s burning out of control
The problem with having pattern recognition is that you can always see the fires before they start. Governments are a bit like that, too.  It’s not that they don’t see the fire before the smoke, it’s...

Seems obvious when you put it like that. Why TF is Albo's ALP trying to appeal to the RW and abandoning the people who voted for them?
The ALP need to realise they will be criticised whatever they do, so how about do things that are good? And do things to please those who voted for you not those who never will.
The AFR run a 2 year campaign to get the ALP to weaken the changes to super tax concessions to make it easier to avoid paying the tax.

The ALP does it.

The AFR criticises the ALP for weakening the policy because people can avoid paying the tax.

My son is on his way to a skatepark gig in Campbelltown via public transport. Around 2 hours. That’s commitment.

Can we really put them up there? That could be fun.
Representing oligarchs as working class heroes is a new low…even for us.

My American brain is curious if without the transcript documenting the words if the document could be used for any legal purposes. It could unintentionally open a big loophole.

Also 'outraged', 'horrified'. 'sickened' and perpetually 'bomshelled' - with a side order of 'wild', 'X-rated' and 'insane' porno and sex acts.
And this is the 'news' outlet the ban on Under 16 social media hopes to direct our kids to engage with?
Oh... and gambling... forgot the gambling.

This is a legitimate concern. But Imma still throw an absofuckinglutely banging kegger to celebrate.
Everyone’s gonna die someday. Trump may die sooner, and when he does, I worry there will be a genuine explosion of violence by people who will be enraged by the celebrations, a deepening of the rift.

Ugh. Discordant message on the Sydney Harbour bridge photographed for the NYTimes story on social media ban for under-16s. Not just Lego green & ick flouro yellow but sanctimonious 'Let Them Be Kids' from a country which jails Indigenous kids & hasn't held the childcare industry to account.
