It's increasingly hard to escape the conclusion that 77 million voted to get rid of democracy in the United States because our country was achieving greater equality and equity, and they didn't want that.

I feel like it should be a bigger deal that the Vice President of the United States rose to the defense of Republican operatives who openly talk about how much they like Hitler, slavery, and rape.

May this loathsome, cowardly traitor be rightly remembered as the worst Speaker in the history of the House.

listen...

you do not have to be smarter than your intimate partner

you dont have to make more than them

or have a greater social status

The purpose of the relationship is not to reinforce your ego

The purpose of the relationship is care

Vaccines are safe and effective.

Autism isn't caused by vaccines, and autistic people and their families deserve our support.

When you want information, ask your doctor.

It's more important than ever for all of us to speak plainly, truthfully, and directly about public health.

So many similarities to GOP candidate Nixon dispatching Kissinger to sabotage LBJ's Vietnam talks, initiating a horrendous Cambodian bombing campaign after winning the 1968 election - only to sign essentially the same deal in 1973 that LBJ had put together 5 years earlier.

Well played, Senator. Well played.

Someone like JD Vance, who has been on the receiving end of a lot of insinuations, should know to couch his language more carefully.

Anyways, I’ll be here, ready to make a deal to save Americans’ health care and reopen the federal government that Republicans shut down.
A headline from the New York Post reads: “JD Vance calls Chuck Schumer ‘one of the most famous Palestinians’”

What a class act she is. A person of integrity, courage, dignity and strength. Oh, and incredibly talented and all-around amazing.

I'm not making fun of anyone: there is something really, really wrong with this person
Noem's arms are very, very thin

Why do they always stare right into the neck of the bottle.

What do they think will happen.

[Notice that I, an insufferable pedant when it comes to punctuation, am not using question marks.]

"Sure, I'm against our military firing upon peacefully protesting civilians in US cities, but... but but but they were eating the cats! We couldn't confirm she worked at McD's!" -- majority of white people
oufaireunvers.bsky.social
Fellas, is it gay to experience enjoyment in relationships with other humans?
oufaireunvers.bsky.social
"White people should learn to respect those unlike themselves" is not untrue, but the real root is that our centuries-old systemic racism is something we purchased at the cost of self-love. I think MAGA, at its heart, is about unaddressed and unresolved self-loathing more than anything else.
oufaireunvers.bsky.social
MAGA is the latest chapter in a long history of white people being lazy and stupid, being unwilling to think deeply about what it would mean for us to live authentic human lives grounded in real self-respect rather than in the fictitious self-regard that our racism gives us.

I wish this video clip were longer. "White people are afraid of Black people" is something white people need to explore and understand. Human beings naturally dread other humans whom they have wronged. The injurious are prone to fear.

But the harm is real. Creating a system that unfairly benefits us, that gives us unearned advantages, has collectively made us weak, slow-witted, unimaginative, anxious, shallow and easily manipulated.

We created this; we're the ones that have to fix it.
oufaireunvers.bsky.social
One of the many things we white folks just won't come to terms with is how our racism harms us, psychologically & spiritually. Yes, we benefit from it materially; no, no one should feel sorry for us for the harm we have chosen to inflict on ourselves, generation after generation.
oufaireunvers.bsky.social
"Racism = prejudice + power" is the formula I learned.

Thing is, so many white people are so soft & weak that they think having their feelings hurt is just as bad as redlining, minimizing/denial of Black pain in healthcare, racial profiling in policing, etc., etc.

But but but but but but Joe Biden was old and stuff

I had a similar experience reading "What Happened". My process was essentially: read a few pages, stop, scream and curse, resume reading. Tough going.

I haven't even ordered my 107 yet... I'm sure that when I do, reading it will be rewarding and also very painful.
oufaireunvers.bsky.social
This is your daily reminder that they ceaselessly mocked "unburdened by what has been" cuz a solid majority of white Americans are totally unprepared to process or discuss what it means for a Black American woman to say that
