wow im kinda on this i want to talk about portalsparkle kick
despite the fact that swears pop up in the portalsparkle fics, i have a rule that *only* city ponies can say them. portal bump says “fuck” several times because shes a manehattanite but you’d NEVER hear a Mane 6 or Ponyville pony say it.

i think if people arent afraid of the tree of harmony by the time the portalsparkle finale rolls around in a few years i will have failed my job as a writer and i must go into exile forever

Really though, aside from me slyly nudging people about what to expect from Chapter 2. I find it a lot more creatively interesting to *work* with the flaws of MLP than to outright replace them with something else.
a huge part of PortalSparkle is that I'm often confronted with the choice to change things I didn't like in MLP.
Truth be told - I try to avoid 'fixing' things, because it doesn't make sense to do that. Even if I dislike a thing, I won't change it for no reason.
Why do I say all this?

Really though, aside from me slyly nudging people about what to expect from Chapter 2. I find it a lot more creatively interesting to *work* with the flaws of MLP than to outright replace them with something else.
