Unsurprisingly, Passan & McDaniel list the Orioles as potential suitors for Skubal, Peralta, Greene, Ryan, Lopez, Gore, Bubic, Cabrera, Alcantara and Singer.

Basically every SP except Keller, for some reason.

Lopez & Ryan have the highest odds of being traded (50%).

BA's new top 10 Orioles prospects for 2026.

A fun rise for LHP Luis De Leon and with RHP Trey Gibson at #3 behind Basallo/Beavers, the undrafted free agent arm is in line to become the top prospect in the system.

From the start of 2022 until the trade deadline of 2025 (pre-pitch tipping), only one qualified reliever had a lower ERA and a higher fWAR than Ryan Helsley. That reliever was Emmanuel Clase.

Considering Clase will likely never pitch again, you could argue the O’s got the best reliever in MLB.

Roster Resource estimates the Orioles’ 2026 payroll at 117M, still about 43M shy of last year’s mark. They could fit a top starter and another solid reliever in that gap, but they should be willing to go past that mark based on what we’ve heard from Elias and Rubenstein.

I think they need to stop this arm angle from creeping up any higher. It’s also raising his release point and he’s seeing reduced IVB. His FB was much more effective with a lower release point and higher IVB.

I like Taylor Ward's plate discipline. Remarkably similar to Beavers, just from the RH side. Ward/Beavers '26:

ZSwing: 53.7% / 57%
ZContact: 86.5% / 83.8%
Chase: 20.7% / 18.9%
Whiff: 23.8% / 23.7%

The Orioles signed Slater de Brun for $4 million, the highest bonus given to a player drafted after the first round in 2025.

Now he's one of 10 prospects who caught our attention this fall.

If you buy FRV, Cowser’s been a +7 defender over 1200 innings in LF, and he’s been about +2 prorated to 1200 innings in CF.

Positional value diff between LF and CF is around 8-10 runs, so if these holds Cowser would end up a bit more valuable in CF.

The Orioles are hiring former Padres manager Mike Shildt as their upper level minor league coordinator of instruction, source confirms. And Samuel Vega is the lower level coordinator.

OF Slater de Brun didn't see any game action after the draft last year, but he still gets included here. A preview of a likely glowing write-up in next week's top 10 release over at BA.

Baseball America picked Michael Forret as the Orioles breakout prospect candidate for this year. @afkostka.bsky.social asked my thoughts on him in the live chat last week. Here’s what I said (copy in the alt text).

Forret might be the least heralded of the bunch, but he could make a case for being the best starter among that group when it’s all said and done."
