🚸 School Streets give children space to stay active and healthy, while reducing air and noise pollution, and improving safety. They activate our streets for joy. In this report, we lay out ways the City can make the program more effective and ambitious.

Gov. Hochul @governor.ny.gov is giving her State of the State today, and she's expected to make a big announcement about autonomous vehicles. Any program to allow fully driverless, for-hire autonomous vehicles, like Waymo, to operate in New York State must be met with serious scrutiny. 1/2

As members of the Stop the Cross Bronx Expansion Coalition, we joined our partners in submitting public comments to the Governor and the NYSDOT calling for them to not widen the Cross Bronx Expressway’s current footprint and to prioritize community alternatives.

Today marks the 9 year anniversary since Hoboken’s last traffic death. NYC has this same opportunity, but as time passes, more and more New Yorkers are dying at our intersections. We can end these tragic and preventable deaths with universal daylighting NOW!!

One year of congestion pricing has brought positive changes to our city, especially in the congestion zone. As we continue to prioritize people over cars, NYC will become safer and more equitable for all.
January 6, 2026 at 8:46 PM
It has been one year since congestion pricing started and it has been a great success. Now it's time for the City to build on that momentum and make our streets safer and more equitable for all. Our statement:

Speaker Adams did not bring CM Julie Won’s bill, Int. 1138 to a vote this session, which would have given New Yorkers more visibility at intersections. We are deeply disappointed in this result. This is a setback in the fight for daylighting but we will not be deterred.

Intersections with poor visibility are dangerous for pedestrians and drivers. Too many New Yorkers have been killed—tragedies that could have been avoided. NYC needs universal daylighting now!
