Lichenomphalia umbellifera, my obsession with this lichen continues! They are all so unique. Reminder: lichens are a symbiotic combination of fungi and algae. Most take the form of their algae component but this one reflects its mushroom side.

The 90s and some of the 2000s were the last decades when groundbreaking, original adaptations were essential, exploring fresh social narratives. Those stories are now out there, available in decent to excellent quality. Today, we're mostly seeing remakes and sequels.
One of the reasons Horror is such an important genre right now — besides the fact that reality is a horror show — is that it’s a genre where people still regularly manage to make original and interesting films and increasingly that’s just not true about filmmaking in general
