Kooyong rose to the occasion three years ago and dumped Frydenburg and installed Monique. Then, after a redistribution favouring the Liberals, she beat of Hamer three years later. If you don’t think you can get a candidate and win a seat, just look at what Kooyong has done. Vote community indies.

Moody’s had no option but to downgrade Tassie’s credit rating to the worst of any state. To say the Government and Opposition are fiscally illiterate is being kind, as they couldn’t even be trusted to manage the cash for a chook raffle. #auspol #politas

Did you know gas exports not only drive your gas bills, but your electricity bills also?

Even though gas is only 5% of electricity in the National Electricity Market (NEM), it sets the electricity price because gas is so expensive.

Pauline Hanson’s use of the Burqa speaks volumes about her and the kind of country she wants

But Senator Fatima Payman’s essay on bravery speaks volumes about the need for quite a different Australia

"progressive politics is not just about climate targets and tax reform. It must also be about moral courage: the ability to say, “Not in our name,” when innocent lives are being destroyed and our government looks away."
An excerpt from Senator Fatima Payman's brilliant essay from @australiainstitute.org.au latest book, "A Time For Bravery".

Rather topical given Hanson's bullshit yesterday

Aircraft noise from new runways will hit thousands more homes. Australia needs fairer solutions
Even moderate night-time aircraft noise can increase insomnia – particularly children. The US and UK both do more to mitigate the noise around airports.

- the gambling industry
- big media
- fossil fuel lobby
- for-profit childcare corporations
- aged care companies
- employment service providers
- property developers...

But Australians with the greatest needs? Yeah nah. #auspol
Gambling ruins lives. It is absolutely unacceptable that the Albanese government will continue to choose vested interests over the wellbeing of Australians and hide behind a watered-down policy - if they ever introduce one. We need action on gambling harms now.
