Hi, I'm Brooke (she/her)! I'm a recent PhD graduate with research interests in sexual selection, mate choice, host-parasite interactions (especially those involving host sex), and animal behavior. I'm looking for a postdoc position!

On the other token, he could be a very matter of fact advisor that would rarely in an offhand way praise your work at a conference. Rarely offers praise but if someone said something mean about you at a conference, he would go into a full on fight for you.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

Absolutely devastated to hear about Jane Goodall's passing. She was a champion in the field and for women biologists. She will be sorely missed, but her memory will live on to inspire generations of biologists and conservationists.

Water anoles take a bubble of air down when they submerge, which they breathe like a tiny scuba tank, and now @lindseyswierk.bsky.social & co reveal that the reptiles may also be using the bubble like a gill, to breathe oxygen directly from the water

in regards to the original post here- how come "tr*nnies should die" is a challenging idea i should entertain for the sake of democracy somehow, but "trans people have always existed and are just trying to live their lives" isn't a challenging idea conservatives likewise need to hear? hmm??
