I just watched a video where I talked about my hopes for my future lab and for science, and the thing that really occurred to me is how much the uncertainty and the attacks in the current moment have tampered my enthusiasm. Those of us who still want to be the change in science are tired.

Los Angeles County voted to declare a state of emergency in response to federal ICE raids. Normally reserved for natural disasters, the declaration allows the county to mobilize resources and offer assistance to residents impacted by the raids.
