Some simple digital sketches of Haleth from the Silmarillion. There's a portrait drawing and a few sketches of her outfit and its details. She is a young woman with redish brown hair and pale skin. Haleth is wearing a european iron age -style fantasy outfit.
There is also a drawing of a brown horse with a dark upright mane that resembles Przewalski's horses and the Lascaux cave paintings of horses. It has some faint blurry stripes on its neck and legs.

I thought that since everything that happened in Beleriand is considered far-away, ancient history by the time of LOTR, iron age clothing would be fitting at least for the humans. The elves had been around for much longer though, so their clothes are more medieval in my drawings.

Her outfit was heavily inspired Finnish iron age and Hallstatt culture clothing. Her heraldic device that Tolkien drew was also an inspiration, especially for the jewellery and colour scheme.

Haleth from the Silmarillion

She has two belts: a red woven one and a leather one with bronze decorations. On her legs are dark legwraps and iron age style leather shoes.

Around Haleth in the landscape are rocks covered by moss and lichen, various shrubs, and small, stunted trees. There are also some small white flowers and a couple of heather bushes. Behind Haleth is a landscape mostly covered by fog, but some forests and mountaintops can be seen above it. The sky is filled completely by large clouds.

A silmaril
At first I tried to make the silmaril design more colorful and more "realistic" but then I realized that simpler is better in this case. Couldn't decide on which background color was better, so I included both. #silmarillion #tolkien #silmarillionart #digitaldrawing

Saimaa ringed seal
I posted an earlier version of this drawing some time ago but I deleted it the next day because I saw that it was quite bad. I usually never post art immediately after finishing it and now I remember why. Anyway here's the better version of the painting

Beleg Strongbow in Doriath

If the lines look a bit stiff when compared to my other digital paintings, it's just because I painted this one entirely using a mouse. It was more fun than I thought it would be, but it did take some more patience and conscious precision when compared to drawing with a tablet and pen.

Varda creates new stars

The painting depicts a wide landscape that is dominated by a dark blue starry sky. Down on the left side is Valinor, the major source of colorful light in the painting, surrounded by high mountains. The sharp peak of Taniquetil stands much taller than the others. Valinor's light paints the surrounding sky in lighter cyans and blues, like a setting sun. In the middle is a still ocean with some mist hanging above it. And on the right is the dark coast of Middle earth with only stars lighting it.

Above the landscape, in the sky is Varda, who is drawn with stylized light purple lines. She is creating new stars, and a new bright one is born right at the tip of her extended finger. She has a crown and jewellery made of stars. Her long cape reaches the ground. Her eye is a stark bright star and she has long wavy hair.
