i have nothing new but i need a boost of serotonin so here's a wip snippet i'm really proud of for #WIPWednesday

i really want to finish this. i'm really cookin with this fic but man. writer's block is a nightmare.

Gently sliding her hands up to Emmrich's shoulders as he leaned in, clearly ready to pick up from where they had left off, she cut him off and firmly pushed him against the back of the couch, using the leverage to straddle his lap, her heart practically beating out of her chest. Being this close to Emmrich still carried with it such a thrill it left her a little dizzy, the heady mix of his earthy cologne and desire in his eyes left her frozen on what to do next.

"Darling?" Emmrich asked after a moment of silence, desire replaced with mild concern.

"Yeah, of course!" A beat. "Well, maybe a little nervous." Herja admitted, her cheeks, currently flushed from desire deepened in hue at the vulnerability. "We've… I've only done this once, and I don't want our time together to be boring for you."

"I wouldn't be… What?" Emmrich asked, concern now replaced with confusion.

Herja had truly succeeded at seduction it seemed, and as that particular gamble continued to crumble she chuckled wryly. "Surely you've had better partners than me." She said matter of factly, lopsided grin accompanying the words in a lackluster attempt to conceal their bluntness.

'"You're comparing yourself to nonexistent ghosts of my past, darling." He said as he shifted forward, placing a hand at the small of her back to steady her as he pulled her into an embrace. They stayed like that, silent, Herja simply focusing on the rhythm of their breathing, the warmth of his skin against hers, the smell of his aftershave; all small parts of the whole that she loved so much and was terrified would be torn away from her if she made one false step again, one failing—

"I love you, Herja, in all aspects of our life together." Emmrich murmured, pulling away just far enough to kiss her gently, the touch a gentle caress against her lips.
