way too often ive told people about the extortionate insulin prices only to be met with "oh but you can just fix it with diet and not need to rely on insulin." so many people have no concept of needing medicine for your entire life. they always think it's optional and we're ignoring alternatives

this comparison of trans healthcare to type one diabetes is one i myself make a lot. they both require lifelong continued access to lifesaving medicine that is too often treated as a luxury and not essential.

The majority of Type 2 Diabetics would survive if insulin was banned as a treatment option for Type 2 Diabetes. In fact, many Type 2 Diabetics can treat their condition through diet and exercise alone. Banning a treatment that only 20% of a group requires is not discrimination against that group.

This is way funnier than it should be but I've been daily wearing fingerless gloves for the past year or so and it's gotten to the point where I have not only a very clear tan line on my wrists and whatnot I also have a noticeable dark area on the back of my hands and it makes me laugh way too much
