An awkwardly proportioned juvenile bluejay is sitting solemnly on a silver fencepost, against a black background. Put out the hummingbird feeder last week, in anticipation of early migrants. Freshened it up this morning, just in time for an absolutely gorgeous ruby-throated boy this evening! He's parked himself in the wisteria, to guard his new nectar source. Photos to come. #backyardbirding #hummingbirds

Every time I come to Bluesky, I get traumatized. Honestly, the news in here is so horrifying. Dead children, pedophiles and animal abuse. I don't even click, I just run screaming. I know we can't let these things go ignored, but holy freaking smokes.

I hope your day was full of good food, good people, good laughs and good will. I'm thankful for my little yard squirrel, who gives me much adorable-ness to appreciate, especially when I bring her acorns.

I’ve got a #bear for you! This is coastal #brownbear from #Katmai Alaska. fit the bill? He’s bear 164, aka Bucky if you know the bears of #BrooksFalls. More where that came from, if folks are ok w/my account being 99% birds, bears, and flowers. Prob even if they aren’t ok with it.

He has an identifying characteristic in that there is a ridge of darker brown fur that runs vertically down his muzzle, about 1/3 of the way from between his eyes, toward his nose. He is wet, and is standing in a river of white frothing water.
