I dream of having enough money to rent a cabin somewhere outside a big city, where it's cool/cold, mountainous, there's water to look at, & I can spend a lot of time exploring both city and country by myself. Drinking coffee alone. Having dinner alone. Shopping alone. Lately it's all I think about.

Thanks to my yearly December knee injury, I will not be putting lights on the house this year. I'm a little disappointed but also relieved that I don't have to spend 30 minutes climbing up and down a ladder while my mom supervises me.

The amount of advertisements we’re subjected to on a daily basis erodes our quality of life, such as it already is in this fucked up country. It’s time for massive regulation of the advertising industry. It shouldn’t be this ubiquitous in literally every part of our lives.

Was wondering why I could NOT stop wanting to eat everything in sight today, then I remembered that I took my shot a day early last week because I didn’t want to take my meds to NOLA with me. So my usual Thursday night/Friday food noise is here a day early, and will last until Saturday morning.

My mom is having hip replacement surgery at the end of the month. Her surgeon told her recovery would be nothing and she’ll be fine in no time. That is NOT what I’m seeing online. I have no idea how to prepare for taking care of her. I guess they’ll tell me day of?

I watched Trading Places for the first time in decades, bc everyone is saying it’s a Christmas movie. Yep, it’s set during the Christmas season. It also has the n-word more than once AND blackface. So uh, I will not be adding it to the annual repertoire. Eddie Murphy is great in it tho. No surprise.
