Hoping this happens in NJ. We need the same in CA, the worst state in the U.S. in terms of school librarians in schools 50/50.

The Freedom to Read Act was truly a group effort. I’m proud to be part of that group!

"You read books, eh?" A 1949 red scare Herblock cartoon about pressures on teachers that hits hard once again.

Yesterday @andreatrudeau.bsky.social had the opportunity to visit @demcoinc.bsky.social to get an inside look at their innovative products & inspiring company culture! Big thanks to Ivonne Smith & Heidi Green for the warm welcome—plus all the goodies we will bring to Kenya! #TLsky #BeTheChange

Thank you for your partnership and advocacy, together we ensured that New Jersey has the strongest anti-book banning law in the country.
We're happy to award Sen. @andrewzwicker.bsky.social, Assemblywoman Mitchelle Drulis, and Congressman Dr. Herb Conway (and others) with the Exemplary Advocate Award for supporting the NJ Freedom to Read Act!

Binding our magazines into volumes is one of the methods we use to help preserve them. It stops them getting crumpled, or the corner's getting bashed 💥

But some days, you run into a spread that makes you think - hmm, maybe that wasn't always a good decision! 🤔

Of the ones here that I have read (gonna work on the rest), I would highly recommend

Algorithms of Oppression

Blood in the Machine

Automating Inequality

as solid starting points

None of these are *explicitly* about AI as we are talking about in 2025, but set the stage really, really well
