THE "CEASEFIRE" IS FAKE. ISRAEL HAS ALREADY VIOLATED IT, AND THEY WILL CONTINUE TO. ANYBODY PRETENDING THIS IS SERIOUS IS LYING OR DUMB. youtu.be/tiW94Qelv-0?...

I hate that he’s an authoritarian - he certainly needs to go and I believe he retained power via election shenanigans.

The fact that he succeeded the heavily demonized Hugo Chavez (by capitalist nations) tells me there is more to the story we do not get to hear.

US meddling is not the answer

Well… María Corina Machado is a neoliberal hack seeking Trump’s “alliance” to take out Nicolás Maduro - she is possibly positioning herself to become the beneficiary of Trump’s regime change in Venezuela.

While what the orange fuhrer said is most likely BS, it’s also plausible.

The whole album is a masterpiece!!!

I see that far too often - people assume the separated bike lane is for cars - not sure how to effectively “idiot-proof” that short of grade separation

Americans are so anti-communism-pilled that our transportation departments have to sell "everybody taking turns so everyone gets there faster" as "zipper merging"

Here’s where there are many other differences. I see Thessaloniki transit quality on par with several US cities - usage is high due, in part, that Thessaloniki in downtown centric and driving to downtown is pretty crazy. US cities are suburb centric.

Cars are still a need - that’s the problem.
nixbora.bsky.social
Yes - it’s better than the US, but it’s a far cry from Northwestern Europe.
nixbora.bsky.social
City-to-city transit is only available via car or bus (coach) with no rail. There is a rail line from Athens to Thessaloniki that was last updated in 1963. If I wanted to take rail to Istanbul, Sofia or even Skopje, it is not an option. Northern Europe is robust - can’t compare.

My family is in Thessaloniki. The transit focus is certainly car-centric and I am hopeful that will improve when they eventually finish the Metro infrastructure project. But, access via high speed rail anywhere is non existent and there are no plans for that to change.

Which is why I called out “not Athens” because including Athens is like including NYC in the US - it’s a massive anomaly for the country overall.

I have family in Greece (not Athens) which is Europe and transit there is pathetic at best!
Very car centric, and most people hate that, but there is no serious political effort to change that.
My understanding is that this reflects most Balkan countries.
