Same. I don't have kids but my husband does from his first marriage. His ganddaughter is mixed race and he's worried for her future and for her dad, our son-in-law. Farage is threatening to end all Indefinite Leave to Remain and deport if Reform wins power. Despicable. 😡

Y’all here is a fun fact: Portland has a brand new volunteer organization called “operation inflation” that allows people to borrow inflatable costumes for protests. They just started a couple weeks ago and have like a 160 costume library (and counting because people keep donating).

Will be with you in spirit at least. Oddly enough, although I'm not a royalist by any stretch, we live in a constitutional monarchy. If the government went full-on fash, Charles has the power to shut down parliament. It would have to be extreme, but he is more political than his mother.

● this only applies to some people on skilled visas
● it's not "A level English" it's something called SELT
● much the same requirement exists elsewhere in EU

Your mileage may vary. Hairy dogs need more maintenance than fine, close-haired dogs and I can imagine that regular flea treatments would help them. Some over the counter meds are just as ridiculously priced as the vets.

I've never given the girls flea treatments, I'm not keen on over medicating and it's laughably easy to spot hitch-hikers on a whippet. On the odd occasion I've seen one it's kill/watch/wait (and maybe home-made spray). Also, get a tick twister. Those things are a must-have in the summer.

3. Subscription based health clubs. I've found these often seem to go hand-in-hand with non-independent vets. Why? because I see the same health club/logo/website for lots of different vets. They *may* be a good idea, a lot depends on your animal(s).

2. If you can, find a multi-disciplinary vet practice - one that treats farm, equine and small animals. The wealth of knowledge that tends to be in these is fantastic. They are also more likely to be independent, obvs this is not always possible if you live in a city/large town

1. Find a truly independent vet practice. A large amount now are beholden to investment companies who have no interest in the welfare of your animal and are all about the money.

We screw up their habitat and they moan when they shit on windows. We have black-backed gulls here on the Esk. Sure they're noisy and kinda obnoxious at times, and they get in beefs with the jackdaws. Hardly a capital offence.
