i find this notion that public spending is illegitimate bizarre as a matter of economics but totally legible as a statement of moral economy. and as per any strict system of morality, the punishment is part of the appeal. they are punishing the american people for believing in the public good.

Irony is dead in this moment along with common sense. Trump who squawked “but her emails” incessantly, let Musk (unelected/not a govt employee) send his crew of kids in to review classified information & plug devices of unknown origin into the government computer system, compromising everything.

Guys - you don’t have the power to do something just because you do it.

If I rob a bank, I didn’t magically possess the power to do it.

It’s what we do in its wake that matters and if your answer is “nothing” stop posting here and go stand on the sidelines.

Two Simple Rules of Resistance:

1) Don't let a wanna-be dictator do anything unopposed: delay, obstruct, resist. Don't legitimize him in any way.

2) Don't let him divide us: whoever #Trump attacks, we defend. Doesn't matter if #TransRights or #MigrantRights are "not your issue." We stay united.

You can't appeal to decency or empathy. They have none. They are not going to feel shame or remorse. If they can feel those things, it wouldn't be for strangers. Empathy isn't for anyone they perceive as beneath them. They don't see most people as humans like them. Stop expecting them to care.
