Trump bought Boeing bonds while giving them billions in contracts. He bought Intel bonds after directing the government to take 10% of the company. He bought Meta bonds while pushing a META-friendly policy. He's not a president. He's an inside trader.😠

The war will end when Russia stops fighting. Therefore, pressure has to be put on Russia, so that they stop believing that they will win. Why is that so hard to understand?

It's intermediate technology, but still very useful. It produces less atmospheric damage than sending residual non-recyclables to landfill, plus we get power!

But I won't back down — and neither should you.

Capital flows to the energy sector are set to rise in 2025 to USD 3.3 trillion.

Around USD 2.2 trillion is going collectively to renewables, nuclear, grids, storage, low-emissions fuels, efficiency and electrification, twice as much as the USD 1.1 trillion going to oil, natural gas and coal.

They're not set up to be local police, they never should have been deployed.

Good to see the Government adopt another @libdems.org.uk policy by raising Remote Gaming Duty. This money must be used to tackle online gambling harms.

After hearing Bath Racecourse’s concerns I’m glad horse racing betting tax is staying unchanged to protect this beloved industry.
The Budget: Racing spared betting duty tax increase by Chancellor Rachel Reeves
Racing avoids tax hike as betting duty kept at 15 per cent in The Budget; Other gambling tax rises expected to raise £1bn by 2031 with Chancellor Rachel Reeves upping online sports betting levy to 25 ...

The Chancellor has spotted the problem but refused the obvious cure.

The fastest way to turbocharge economic growth is to fix our relationship with the EU & plug the £90billion Brexit blackhole.

Instead, all this Budget does is again fail to tackle the cost of living crisis & boost our economy.

Why are the Americans supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the extent that they are not (a) condemning that invasion nor (b) requiring the Russians to withdraw from the territory they have siezed by military force?
Do they want to divide and control Ukraine between them and Russia?

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

You may sometimes hear about "Svalbard" - a Norwegian archipelago in the far North East. By a 1920 treaty military use is restricted, but economic activity is not. The only 2 settlements are on Spitzbergen where Russia & Norway once mined coal.

The Australians are making good progress with solar power - they get lots of sun! They are now running ahead of grid stability & demand.
They now produce too much electricity in some areas & have to introduce 3 hours at midday when electricity is free.
What about promoting BEVs & storage batteries?

Heat pumps are the most efficiency heating technology ever invented.

That's because they harvest, compress and transport pre-existing heat from the air, the ground or the water.

Compared to a gas boiler heat pumps deliver ~4x more heat for each unit of energy inout.
