I think my sickest coding move was when I needed to paste some code somewhere and just blindly went for it, hoping that I still had it copied from a few minutes ago

Friend watching was in awe

Needless to say, it was NOT on the clipboard

A few times now, close 'friends' attacked and unpersoned me over some kink art I drew. Years of friendship thrown in the trash, over some drawings.

Kinda permanently made me more anxious about new people, always worried they'll blow up like that too if they ever happen to go through my gallery xwx
No, don't apologise. You're exactly right.

In fact, I encourage *EVERYONE* who's experienced abuse at the hands of fandom fascists to QP/reply and tell your stories of the violence you've experienced at their hands over *fiction* and *pixels*.

And call them what they are: anti-queer fascists.
Apologies for kind of just tossing this vent on your post but GOD, I'm relating hard. I wish I could get justice. I wish we ALL could get justice. This wasn't just "shipping drama" or whatever people want to label it, it was fascist-lite violence.
TL;DR: Mobile players expect a free game that they can pay to play faster, but can either way get all content; nope, some is completely locked behind DLC in a very Console-y way

Console players are mad they have to pay for a "free on mobile" game, even though they get more functionality by default
Like dang, I know this is old-fashioned in today's market, but just sell me a full lemonade for $6

If I had to pay for a full cup in 3 installments of $2, I'd be paying the same amount but now I'm less happy
Switch players will be upset because it's fed to them in three seperate purchases, rather than just as a full game (which, again, I feel it deserves to be called!)
Mobile players will be upset because it's advertised like a freemium game, but some content is completely locked behind the DLC, rather than just time-gated

Not to mention the psychological effect of presenting it as a free game, but locking standard functionality (unlimited) unless you pay
I could see it like how Pokemon Art Academy had mons up to XY, and then down the line if it got a sequel with the Alola mons, I'd rather get a small DLC than a whole new game?

I just find it interesting overall that Pokemon has to mix and match these monetization strategies in today's market
(maybe I'm posting this in the vain hopes that a Pokemon rep is scanning for feedback, but)

I say all this with the caveat that in 2025, I don't think you can fund a big puzzle game with more updates for a one-time $35; devs are expensive and it's a smaller audience
I guess the model I'm used to from PC games is getting a game for maybe $40 that gets a few free content updates once the devs have that initial influx of money to keep going

Now, I don't know if every year, my $35 dollar puzzle game will be dangling more Pokemon in front of me for another $15?
I may end up buying it because I think a Pokemon-themed puzzle game I can play whenever is totally worth it!

But one big drawback to this mix of models is: now I don't know if future Pokemon are going to be gated behind more paid packs too? What's the lifetime cost of this game going to be?
I think Pokemon Friends is in this funny position where it'll reach more people this way (low barrier to entry), but also make more people upset overall, which feels paradoxical but describes the current feel of game advertising, lol

But then this runs against the gacha expectation that all content (including future updates) is available, you just have to play enough to unlock it (but if you pay, then you can do that faster)

I don't think the full set of puzzles and Pokemon are ever available to free players?

(cont'd)
I think the full 30 puzzle types and Pokemon is worth the $35 price tag! It's got a really fun loop: puzzle, decorate, puzzle

But I know in today's game market, people turn away if they see a price tag above $20, so Pokemon probably has to sell it piecemeal like this to get any interest

Buuuuuut in both console and mobile, it also launched with two ~$13 dollar DLCs which each unlock 10 more puzzle types and more Pokemon to collect, and I think that's where I'm not so happy

So on mobile, there's 10 puzzles in the base game, and you can only play it once per day, like a daily pack/pull/gacha

Buuut you can pay $10 to play it unlimited times per day, like a full game? And in fact on console, it comes like this by default for $10, no free daily option
