I've had my eye on Whiskerwood! It's a colonial settlement builder, where you play the role of governor to a colony of mice under feline rule. Like the first age in Tropico 6, you have to deal with the fickle demands of the colonial power while surviving. Just played a bit, but I liked that I did.

The way my eyebrows went up, after all that, at "...but they practice ABA." I've been in that fear.

If it helps, contemporary ABA claims to be much less about compliance and more about compassion and independence. If it's the option available to you, you can at least see if they walk that walk.

I'm optimistic about Astrobotanica; it's not quuuuite there yet for me (the tutorialization is a little rough), but the mechanics are gonna put it right into Planet Crafter territory, so I'll probably get it once it's in a better place!

You gotta be really careful with how much you employ sarcasm. I think we're finally coming out of the time when insincerity and snark are being seen as smart/witty - especially when you're mocking -the player- instead of society or systems.

It's not going to stop me from buying it because I am the pig in question, but the new Power Wash 2 trailer really misses the mark. It focuses so much on how much pointless busywork everything is, so the tone feels like, "here, you stupid piggies! More slop!"
