24 years ago today George Harrison took another step towards moksha. Earlier this year I compiled a People’s Playlist of his music guided by scores of Bluesky responders. Each song here is somebody’s very favourite George-related track. Three hours, ’63-‘01. Enjoy.

I'm delighted with the Beatles Anthology 2025 tv series! So pleased that it's been recut to include interview quotes we've not seen before & more of John on screen. The demixed sound on tv performances & concert footage is fantastic!
Episode 9 is fabulous - so much unseen footage & moving moments!

I completely agree. It's fabulous!😍

Another Nothing Is Real Anthology reissue episode tomorrow to celebrate Anthology reissue week. Hooray! This time: The Aftermath - what happened after the Anthology kicked off in November 1995.

I’ve been blessed with some amazing radio producers over the years. Most I’m still in touch with.
Ollie I’ve been working with for yonks. We bonded over our shared love of The Fabs so it was a treat last night to hang out & see a taster of the expanded #TheBeatlesAnthology together.

Beatle bliss 😃

Watching Anthology and the quality is vastly improved. And a nice touch to add soundtracks (the first of which is streaming now).

You can’t help but wonder why Anthology 4 (the album) didn’t include more from the doc. Kansas City and Some Other Guy at the Cavern being notably absent!

Another top episode with @stevenc63.bsky.social Spot on reflections on Paul's performance. For You Blue was such a good choice. And I love the moment with Macca and Ringo shouting "And there's the 12 bar blues!" together. Brilliant!
Part 2 of our chat about Concert for George with @stevenc63.bsky.social is now LIVE, and there's lots to discuss!

🍏What are the standout performances?
🍏Paul treads VERY carefully. How much credit does he deserve for how he handles this?
🍏Was Joe Brown getting the closing number a surprise?

Part 2 of the fascinating discussion with @stevenc63.bsky.social of Nothing Is Real. A deep dive into the contrasting feelings of Ringo and Paul and how they approached the performance as well as Joe Brown's moving finale and much more. Don't miss it!
Because we took a long, long, long time recording it, our episode on Concert for George, guest starring @stevenc63.bsky.social, is in two parts, and part 2 is out on Monday! We'll talk about the standout performances, and in particular Paul and Ringo's contributions.

Jason has quite brilliantly removed the tv commentary from the studio chat from the newly-released outtake of All You Need Is Love.

Ok I removed Steve Race's voice over the best I could. There's not much past the 1:00 mark but at least the tea chat is clearer! drive.google.com/file/d/1Zu1-...

Mentioned earlier. @stevenc63.bsky.social did an alternative running order of Extra Texture (Read All About It). I think it really enhances a fine album, that probably wasn't sequenced as well as it could have been. I really like it #extratexture50

His Name Is Legs
My least favourite on the album. It sounds muddy and fairy half-hearted. The lyrics are a bit weak (especially if you don't know Larry Smith). It's just a bit bland and a poor album closer.

Grey Cloudy Lies
I'm not keen on that synthesizer sound!
I imagine this would sound fabulous with just acoustic guitar and vocals.
I like George's joke about the song title.

A lovely George melody. I like the bass. The orchestration on this album is very effective and the arrangements are really good.
