If we're repeating quotes: "However, if we look at pedestrian deaths by model of car, we see that pedestrian deaths involving popular sedans have increased as well. Pedestrian deaths involving Honda Civics and Accords, Toyota Corollas and Camrys, and Nissan Altimas have all increased substantially."

"..the rise in large SUVs is behind the uptick in ped deaths." is a cherry-picked sentence. You could argue that collisions are causing more severe injuries because distracted drivers/peds make no attempt to avoid the collision (full on hit as opposed to glancing blow).

I gave up owning a car about 10 years ago due to the walkabiliity of the area and excellent public transit, but in a lot of these cases, I'm on the driver's side. Like, what the hell are you doing, walking between two parked cars and stepping out into the road?

Good job cherry-picking.

This. I live in a walkable urban area with dense traffic and the number of distracted people basically jaywalking is astounding.

Jays got it done. 👍

You're supposed to lob zingers at @captmediocre.bsky.social, not me!

But the Jays' implosion yesterday was very Leafesque.

This turned not fun very, very fast

You get the feeling that Jays pitchers will keep things interesting even if the offence scores 15 runs.

Good point here. Apple told the Biden government to shove their court case in 2016 but bent over backwards to make the fascists currently in power happy. I guess, "Fuck You, Make Me" is only said to one party.

Thank you, Michael! Best of luck to your Wings and Captain, may the Habs' previous season be the high-water mark of their current rebuild.

Never seen a pitcher yanked while carrying a no-hitter
