Here's the Garlic (aka Medulla) nebula in all of its glory. This is a very dim target. I collected about 53 hours of data with 38 of that being spent on the hydrogen. I don't normally post the starless versions of my images but it was just too good not to include.

An astrophotography image of a nebula. It features a supernova remnant that resembles a bulb of garlic in the center. The image is primarily red, due to the high amount of hydrogen in the region, though there are some blue aspects (the representation of oxygen) to the left side of the garlic bulb. This image also contains a very dense star field in it due to the long exposures needed to get sufficient data.

Specbio design work for my alien creatures. I don't have a name for them yet, think I'll just refer to them as "Discerners", since they've taken a vow of knowledge and their society is built around studying the world that they live in and reality altogether (as well as themselves).

The animal has a quadrupedal body that is shaped like a cheetah's, mixed with a meerkat. Its torso is long, with an extended pointy tail. The front arms are more like human arms, with opposable thumbs and four fingers on each hand. They sit upright like humans. On their backs are folds that contain wings that are like bug wings, that unfold when opened. The colors of the creature are brown, tan, blue, and cream. The eyes are yellow, and have nictitating membranes. The face of the animal is dog-like, but with a pointy hooked nose that looks sort of beak like. Their nose is bright blue, and their teeth are sharp and carnivorous.

I have ultimately messed with their anatomy a bit, I decided to not give them 5 fingers as it served no purpose in their biology. I also wanted them to have more.. chitin/segmented parts instead of their bodies being soft all around.
