I don't really do it much since the advantage of fanfics is that the readers already know, but sometimes its nice to see how they look under a character's biased lenses.

His bruises had slowly begun to heal once again, and Hancho was happy to note that there were fewer and fewer dark red swollen marks on his face now. The shape of his brows and the sharpness of his cheekbones awfully mirror Hancho's. So do the blue locks that began to grow back from the roots of his hair.

He had been dying his hair black it seems, but now, he's not capable of keeping it up anymore.

A few more days of this and they would truly look like twins, and wouldn't that be funny.

Cloud’s mother left him in the eve of his seventeenth birthday.

There was no long, winded speech of farewells. No list she went through to remind Cloud of how to live on and survive without her. None of her vicious coughing fits that always leave her bed drenched in blood, that Cloud had to spend a quarter of his day scrubbing clean to tell himself that this is only temporary; nothing is ever absolute and infinite.

Cloud’s mother’s life, for example, is finite.
