That would certainly be supported by what we’ve seen.
Do we know on what grounds they are detaining this person, let alone punching him repeatedly in the head for no fucking reason?

You’re right that they are playing with fire. Clearly the administration wants to provoke that damn bursting, but they too are playing with fire.
This is just madness. They are trying to deport Venezuelans to whatever country they can strong arm into taking them and now we’re going to create an even bigger humanitarian disaster by home striking their country? All while cancelling TPS? Just total madness.
Already read it and you can try reading slowly both my comments I made where I disagreed with his point. You or the other guy clearly read one and decided to pop in and be trolls.

Buena suerte!
Nah bro you’re missing. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Again, the DEGREE of what Byrd’s actions were a lot more than Platner’s dumbassery.
Not making it a defense. It’s simply not the same thing as actively working to prevent Civil Rights legislation.

Maybe read my damn comment more clearly to understand I don’t think he comparison a good. Not about his understanding of history pal.
If you want to argue it’s a sign Platner will be rabidly anti-Semitic and racist, go ahead. And maybe they will use Platner as cover, but I don’t think it make any difference. Elon Musk clearly gave a Nazi salute and they have done everything explain that away. Platner is a non-factor.
Byrd actively worked against civil rights, engaging in 14 hr filibuster of the Civil Rights Act.

Platner had a hidden tattoo on his chest. Is there evidence he has engaged in denying people equal rights?

The degree of difference makes your comparison really weak.
Virtual hearings are a godsend to our legal system
A Detroit police officer appeared in court virtually wearing his uniform top with no pants on

Judge: “You got some pants on, officer?”
At this point, the blatant Islamophobia and racism is just so laughable. It’s half-assed. It’s not even desperate, it’s pathetic.
So here's Andrew Cuomo reacting to Maria Bartiromo wondering if Mamdani will "change the look of New York" and have Muslim women "completely covered up," telling her that Mamdani "doesn't understand New York culture" because he has "dual citizenship" and "he's a citizen of Uganda."
Another person who should clearly be stepping down. This party needs Tea Partied so badly
It should be retitled The World According to Elon Musk
Aside from impunity and repeated human rights violations, what could go wrong with this?!
"I would deputize the Proud Boys and the January 6 Patriots to bounty hunt illegal immigrants," Jake Lang, a former Jan 6 defendant running for Senate in Florida, said.

MAGA Republicans are trying to portray the entire left as extreme - while this is their side.

Proud Boys should be deputized to hunt migrants, says GOP candidate
Jake Lang told Newsweek that the Proud Boys and other participants in the Capitol riot should carry out immigration enforcement.

How about we take another $130 million from a billionaire to keep it funded? How about a few of them?
Johnson: Snap benefits is a unique situation. I got a summary of the legal analysis…the contingency funds are not legally available to cover the benefits right now
It took me a minute to realize they were trying and failing to go after John Oliver.

Folks, be very careful going after comedians unless your skin is thicker than a rhinoceros (they have thick skin right?) just to easy to make fun of these whiny, self important people.
I had to do a double take to see if this post was from 2017
Bernie fans REALLY think he could’ve won in 2016.

That’s a big part of their problem, this basic, obvious misunderstanding.

genuinely so funny that rightwingers are saying this as if it should be scary or bad lmfao

Congress created Special Immigrant Juvenile Status as a protection against deportation — yet because of procedural quirks, there is a lag/limbo between SIJS and a green card, and a person can have both a removal order AND a SIJS grant. This admin is pushing forward with removal during this lag time.
Yesterday, I went to an ICE check-in with 16-year-old Joel Camas and his lawyer, who expected him to be out in time for school by 8am because he has special immigrant juvenile (SIJ) status. Instead, he was detained.

Here is what happened (free link):

So . . . these guys CAN pay a lot more in taxes 🤔
Probably not a good thing when the revelation of the oligarch who sent $130m to pay troops identity is revealed and the photo used is 44 years old and the headline includes "reclusive." www.nytimes.com/2025/10/25/u...

As a reminder, when Biden announced student loan forgiveness—based upon a statute passed by Congress which explicitly said the President could do exactly that—Douthat called it "semi-Caesarist" because it was done "without consulting Congress."

But there also has to be a promise or a vision of how the country will transform, how it will look or what it will be like to live here. I don’t think Kamala will be able to really articulate a clear idea on that.
I just don’t see her winning the nomination in 2028. The candidate that wins the Democratic nomination is very much going to have to channel immeasurable anger, promise unrelenting fight against Trump (who’s probably going to seek an illegal third term.)
