My constituent, Amu, is on Day 40 of their hunger strike in prison.

Last month, I requested an urgent meeting with the Justice Secretary to discuss their wellbeing.

He has now officially declined my request.

What an absolute disgrace.

Indiana Republicans have effectively ended any realistic chance of the Democrats retaining any of the State's House Reps, mostly by splitting the main city into four equal quarters, so that each new district will be dominated by reliable GOP voters outside the city.

Some people are surprised that National has seen a boost in Verian's poll. But huge numbers of NZ households have seen significant cuts in their mortgage payments. A great many are potential National voters, and they are sighing with relief. But that feeling will not last in a cost of living crisis.

The PM and Simon Bridges handed such an easy win to Mr Hipkins. By making themselves enemies of the holiday, they have allowed Mr Hipkins to pose as the friend of the Xmas break. Newsflash, National: people work hard and like holidays.

What are people's thoughts about the reasons for the apparent transfer of support from Green to Labour suggested by the Verian poll?

One interesting result from the Verian poll is its indication that a plurality of Maori believe TPM's co-leaders should step down. However, the margin of error will be higher for a sub-set (Maori voters) of the overall poll. The sharp decline in Party Vote support tends to support that result

After a year of working and struggling, people are being chastised by this Govt for taking a holiday. Unbelievably tone-deaf. Genuinely stunning in its ignorance of the public mood.

I'm watching a travel video (uploaded today) from Tanzania. Images of the dictator are everywhere. On main roads, every lamp post has her picture. Omnipresent images of the thug in chief are a hallmark of the worst regimes.

Boards Chair here - before our BOT passed a motion affirming our commitment to Te Tiriti, I received emails from parents and teachers urging the board on.

The union never said a word.

Amazing that reaffirming a commitment to Te Tiriti is viewed as "anti-govt" (his words)

The resignation of Marjorie Taylor Greene is a reminder of how all-powerful Trump is in the GOP. It is compulsory for Republicans to stand with Trump in every matter and at every time. They stand with him, and they will fall with him.

We have all dealt with men like Trump. Men who require constant flattery. But as Mayor Mamdani knows, that need for constant praise can make those men very weak indeed.

This poll, among others, indicates that Trump will be much less damaged by the Epstein files than many people hope. Despite the evidence, fewer than one in eight of his voters believe he was involved in a crime.
"Do you think that Trump was involved in crimes allegedly committed by Jeffrey Epstein?"
