Happy Pride month, all! Way back in 2018 I made these galaxy pride flags. They were shared many thousands of times, featured on Vice, and even made their way onto book covers and into video games.

Here are the original ones I created (in no particular order!) so Bluesky can have them too. 💙

The relentless attacks on library workers, educators, and community members are meant to create an environment of fear.

For #RightToReadDay, we’re asking you to celebrate — and defend — the freedoms that are found in our libraries!

Spotted my pal Kush at the library! 😬 so grateful 🫶🏼
There should be room for all of it—they are equally important!

It’s been one year that my picture book, Quiet Kush, has been out in the world! To celebrate, I made a paper-sculpted chocolate cake, and am currently hosting a giveaway on IG.

I’m also going to be doing a school visit this Friday and I’m so excited! #kidlit
Here’s my little reading his new book!
This effort and sacrifice toward nurturing my love of reading is a big part of who I am today. I am so grateful for that, and I hope to never say no when my little one wants to buy the book. 3/3 #kidlit
Yet, despite my weekly library haul, every book fair that came along, I got to pick out a few books from the paper “catalog”, and also given some to buy a book at the fair. 2/3 #kidlit
My little has a book fair this week, and he spotted a book he liked! He was so excited to read it, so I bought it. I thought about my childhood and how my hard-working immigrant parents never said no when it came to books. I thought about how tough it must have been financially for them, 1/3 #kidlit
Excited about this sweet freebie that will be included in this month’s newsletter. Hint: it’s a game! #kidlitthreads

#artvsartist2024 I didn’t create as much new work as I would have liked to this year, but that’s starting to change more recently! 🫶🏼✨
I’m a better writer than I am a speaker, I think, but I got to share my thoughts on true diversity over tokenism, as well as storytelling and creativity from an educator/parent perspective! Listen at the link below (also available on Apple Podcasts)
