One of the many Irani Cafes in Bombay that Dishoom is inspired by. Pictured is some Bun Maska (Buttered Bun), Salli Boti (a meat dish topped with crispy potato fries) and Akuri (spicy, creamy, scrambled Eggs). Not pictured are pints of fresh lime soda – very essential to beat the Bombay heat.

I keep thinking about how when I was a teenager, I had a much richer inner world. I cultivated it through so much reading, it was almost a crutch and an escape into universes that weren't anywhere near mine.
