My dad almost died in September the week of Seattle's season opener. He's my everything.
I spent all 77 days with him in hospital or his nursing center..
He returned home after the loss to the Rams.
Now the Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl.
This is the first Seahawks win to ever make me cry.

Been saying it for weeks. This is community defense, not protest. Protests are about making a point to powerful people. This is direct action in defense of powerless people.
One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

The bait and switch of non-confrontational for non-violent is just a flavor of the logic that protects abusers within families.
The goal isn't to avoid confrontation, it's to achieve justice and win true peace.

I think most Americans have been led to believe that "non-violent protest" means non-confrontational demonstration held with all the proper permits. They don't get that it was non-violent direct action that was practiced in the 60s and confrontation was the point.

I am not an expert in resistance movements or anything really outside of marvel comics and my particular areas of engineering.
IOW, I'm like most Americans. So when I say, "I'll follow any leader who isn't pissing their pants, focus grouping moral stances and has a plan" I think most people agree.
