Magnetosphere, an allegory
30 x 24 in, Oil on panel, 2021, homage to Fumée D'Ambre Gris by John Singer Sargent.

In addition to the warmth and light we receive daily, our sun expels a constant barrage of dangerous charged particles called the solar wind.

I lost the fan on my bedside table.
Of all the myths, of all the fables,
A fate so dire has ne’er been seen.
Whether in play or silver screen.
A fate so cruel to weigh my soul,
I’ll never feel it’s gentle blow.

A site about only getting the right amount of sun. Call it OnlyTans.

A site about family sized vehicles. Call it OnlyVans.

The thing that’s worse than MTG being used as an abbreviation for a politician is all the people making posts like this with the name of the card game in it so that search ALSO gives me useless results.

Back at it again with some MTG art I feel is under appreciated. Valgavoth's Faithful by Jodie Muir. Unfortunately there isn't a larger resolution of this available to really dig into the details but I do enjoy the ones I can make out, the spiral of moths; the tattered, moth eaten robe. Beautiful

The moral of the Hansel and Gretel story is that sometimes when you think you’re cooking you’re actually cooked.

Magic the gathering bans seven cards, ends up with a worse meta game.

Me: You don’t understand. The attractiveness of the vampire is a part of WHY they’re evil. They charm you, distract you. See, they were originally a metaphor for the “blood sucking” wealthy class who took advantage of-

The Internet: Oh I’m attracted alright.

Finally, some good news.
James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family and one of the most influential voices in the conservative evangelical movement, has died at age 89

I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying stuff along the lines of “I hope everyone who didn’t vote out of protest is happy.” and while I did vote for Harris I think its patently absurd to throw crap at the people who didn’t feel their vote is owed to somebody just because they aren’t Trump.

I love that wizards said they were gonna focus on standard and then everytime I check in there’s one deck that 40%+ of people are playing and everyone else is trying to counter that deck.

A small mercy from the forces that be that I never got into competitive Magic.

I splash my face with water from the sink, the lighting is washed out, bleak. I look at myself in the mirror. My reflection asks “why are you at work when you could be playing Dwarf Fortress?”

Magic: The Gathering's Universes Beyond initiative is intended to be a vehicle to bring new players to the game. Unfortunately, prices for product are becoming so outlandish, sticker shock may stop those new players before they can even begin.

Magic: The Gathering Has A Price Problem, And It's Sabotaging Universes Beyond
If these collaborations are supposed to bring new players in, steep markups will keep them out.

How the fuck is this shitstain still fucking up my google searches. I wish I could grab it at its roots and tear it out, even if that meant tearing the internet asunder.

Seeing this stupid fucking popup makes me want to break things.
