I can well believe this... there's a multitude of other factors too... which make hard for an interested outsider... even one trained in anthropology/sociology... know whats going on...

A few years back...bought a Washing Machine, off some Mirapuri dude, who ran a "white goods" place in South Mcr. Friendly guy. Transported the Machine+gave me a lift. Got hit with more conspiracy in the next 30 mins...than I've had in a lifetime...& most of my friends are lefty acid casualties!:0

It's another reality post 9/11 -feel like we're entering another one presently...& yeah...you don't really get a sense of it without learning it, living it...+ reflecting on it...guess Pakistan as a concept is an interlocking network of contadictory & contested fields both internally & externally...

It hit me many years back... pre 9/11. My ex was at Oxford Uni. Her "House Mother" (and later) housemate was from an upper middle class military family. Incredibly different to the 2nd/3rd gen Mirapuris/Kashmiris/Punjabis I know in Mcr... who are generally have an implicit proletarian attitude...

IMHO it's the best recipe from the classic "Moosewood Cookbook", which was the great NY veggie cookbook of the 70s... very very tasty!!!!!

Remember word war 1... it was all a big boy Scout Romp at the beginning and they described in those terms...it's all fun and games until someone gets their eyes shot out. It ends with Wilfred Owen et al because that's as much realism as the academy allows.... you can swap tanks/gas for drones/AI...

The AI bubble is going to be brutal (and it’s happened… it’s just not manifested at spectacle level yet). I fear it’s going to take another world war, or a plague extent event to bring about wealth redistribution to any meaningful extent and defang the tech bros….

Somehow Marxism‘a ‘contradictions in capitalism’ springs to mind… the state is more than the government, and is not entirely democratic, or humanistic by default. The destruction is assimilated by a smaller percentage at every iteration until the time of a big enough systemic crisis…
