Not one thing is sacred or safe. He does whatever he wants. He won't ask and he'll never apologize. Trump's completely self-absorbed disregard for anything unrelated to himself was well-known before he was elected. I am worried & furious American ignorance put NARA and LoC in this miscreant's hands.

Yes. The only purpose for most apps is data mining, no matter what convenience or entertainment they appear to be presenting. In some cases you can't fully participate w/o a current model phone & apps. Disney? Forget it. Movies, shows, sports...access almost requires digital fealty.

WAY beyond the saturation point.
The effort to convert our lives to datapoints--so that we exist in bar-less tech-prisons as targets for marketing, manipulation, control, & punishment--is relentless. It is not compatible w/ a free-society.
When/if we reject tech, we end their power & embrace ours.

I complain about this a lot, but the “information collection and account creation” shit in our society is out of control. The place where I get my EYEBROWS done does not need to know my home address and birthday, and I do not need to create a profile. Companies need name + payment info & that’s it.

Good Reads and most quote sites are not so good at attribution--a pet peeve. This quote was attributed to Hemingway as it appeared in an article (Playboy?) that came out a couple of yrs after he passed, but scholars don't believe he actually wrote it. More probable alternate origins have been cited.

That said, this is *the* lie they are hammering re the shutdown--and it's the one they expect ppl to respond to. They've corralled most of what support they have by stoking hate for otherized scapegoats. He nds to be checked on it at every turn

In effect, he is functioning as a tool for the news in general in the way that Hegseth wanted Pentagon reporters to function--just say what we want you to say. No pushback. No perspective. No context. Just be a conduit for the lies of the state.
