50 years ago today, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1975, Brewers infielder Kurt Bevacqua, representing the AL, blew an 18 1/4-inch bubble to win the World Series of Bubble Gum Blowing, which was taped for that night's World Series Game 3 pregame show. He beat Phillies catcher Johnny Oates from the NL. (1/2)
Just saying, that play was the kind of thing that happens for teams of destiny. #Brewers

Phew! The Cubs avoid a repeat of 1984 by beating the Padres. Next stop: Milwaukee
The two Cubs who took time off during the pennant race to attend Charlie Kirk's political rally memorial single-handedly ended their team's bases-loaded, no-outs opportunity without scoring any further. Cubs take a 2-0 lead into the 3rd.
Seems appropriate since, historically, the Angels tend to play like poo holes - even when they have a generational talent or two on their roster.
