Truly. Best we can do is recognize the weird shit in what we read growing up and implement what *did* inspire us from said works in an unambiguously healthier way.

I also blame my teenage girly mind being VERY normal about Dragons to where I’d let a LOT of shit slide to scratch my itch, lol.

I can’t really argue with you on that, it’s been ages since I’ve read her work And I know it’s come under a bit of scrutiny given the passage of time.

I guess it’s a lovecraft situation where the work still had a profound effect on how I approach fantasy world building with a more obtuse eye.

kinks and cantrips is the lowest hanging fruit, but I also think of Vice and Violence to some extent. And to be fair V&V is supposed to be very tongue in cheek, so I can’t fault it too much for being a decent bit silly with it.

More so I mention campaigns I’ve been in and played with mink in mind.
