Made this sprite hack (based on a Shy Guy sprite by skovacs1 alttp.mymm1.com/sprites/?met...) but since I only know how to edit the Girl character, this means the game's gender options for me are now "Boy" and "Jason"
The Satellaview+ Spirit Halloween is back, and this time it's extra spooky. Perhaps... perhaps TOO spooky. It even seems to be affecting the town's residents.
The dangerous secret turned out to be an undisclosed way to use the controller port to transfer data between a PC and the SNES, which of course has already been used to play fucking Bad Apple on the Dezaemon menu www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNQV...

TIL that Dezaemon, the SNES game where you create your own shoot-em-up, has a hidden message warning about "a dangerous secret" that took 27 years to be solved. (It's so dangerous that Google refuses to translate this page about it, hence the Discord screenshots) thanks-pawapass.info/hiroomin/dez...
A hidden message reading "A dangerous secret will be revealed" appears on Dezaemon (SFC).
January 27, 1994
The beginning of it all

Of course, the game hadn't been released yet.,
It would take another 22 years for this message to become public.,
It would take another 27 years for the mystery of the secret communication function mentioned in this message to be solved. Secret 3
Joypad Port 1 allows data exchange. This means you can play games you create on a computer or transfer them to a cassette. With a connection cable and communication software, you can create any number of games and store data. However, the connection cable and communication software must be created from scratch, and the data exchange is too complicated to implement. With some knowledge of assemblers and basic hardware knowledge and a computer, you could probably make it.
Note: The comment was written by Tabata himself, who was the programmer for Dezaemon.

@quakedoomnukem.bsky.social Hi, your Dezaemon user games page on archive says to contact you with any new info, so here you go: found another SNESaemon game made in 2021 (as a demo for this game's weird ass controller port communication feature) blog.livedoor.jp/hiroomin/arc...

Never forget that becoming a fascist is volunteering to end up in a bunker with a gun in your mouth.
The thing I really need people to understand is that fascism was always this stupid. Back then, they were also this stupid.

Okay, if they were this stupid, why did they win?

They didn't. They lost, they were on drugs, they got shot, they cried like babies, and they shot themselves.

If you're one of those people who loves wordsearch puzzles but wished they were way more complicated and somehow told a Halloween-appropriate story about a demonic cult, The Demon of South Gloria exists for exactly you and nobody else.

Wonder if @classicsofgame.bsky.social takes submissions (sound on)
My ridiculously low poly N64 car may look completely stupid, but at least it's road sa-- oh no. oh nooooooo

Tried to make a car on Mario Artist on the N64 but this mode barely has any polygons and it came out all crappy. Look at this stupid piece of shit. Try to imagine that in real life.
This is pretty much just Faceball but online, because this game cannot be improved. You can download it or play on browser at @itch.io: andys-hat.itch.io/faceball-200...

My friend remade Faceball 2000, the best (and only) first-person shooter on Game Boy, as a free PC game so that everyone can experience the 16-player deathmatch mode without the need for link cables or dozens of batteries. It's fun as hell. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJvX...

It's bizarre how close that is (I thought they were gonna do a bit about how violent the show is, but nope). I guess that sketch where they straight up did Sábado Gigante did well.
I think I'd be more into modern games if they had this feature. "Yaaay, you blew up that demon's torso, Maxwell! I love you!"
The developers of Mario's Early Years for DOS customized the game for three of their children. Inputting hidden codes at the start of the game can launch it in a personalized "Marissa", "Ali" and "Josh" mode whereby the in-game voices address the child by name.
Back in the day, whenever I started watching a trailer I was constantly saying "Has it started? Is this the trailer? Has the trailer started? Am I watching the trailer now?" But not anymore!
Still from the Anaconda (2025) trailer with Paul Rudd and Jack Black looking at the camera and the words "TRAILER STARTS IN 3" Still from the Dust Bunny (2025) trailer with the name of the movie and the words "TRAILER STARTS NOW" Still from the Regretting You (2025) trailer with the name of the movie and the words "TRAILER STARTS NOW" Still from the The Threesome (2025) trailer with the name of the movie and the words "TRAILER STARTS NOW"
The reason I can't buy this bootleg NES shaped like a laptop with a built-in LCD screen is that I already own a different, much uglier bootleg NES shaped like a laptop with a built-in LCD screen, without the fake Windows aesthetic. At least I can confirm it comes with all the classics.
A bootleg NES (famiclone) console shaped like a laptop, with a working keyboard at the bottom section and tacky, very '90s artwork on the top section, showing glamour shots of the console itself from different angles. In the middle of the artwork is a small built in LCD screen, exactly like the ones in "brick game" bootleg handheld consoles. A famicom-sized multicart is inserted on the slot over the keyboard. Close up on the LCD screen from the previous photo, which is now on and shows a "title screen" saying "99 IN 1" in Tetris-like bricks. The LCD screen now shows a simple racing game with carts made out of Tetris-like bricks. The LCD screen now shows a Breakout-type game made out of Tetris-like bricks.
I don't know what the hell they do with the extra four buttons on NES games (turbo and EXTRA turbo?) but yeah these rule
Photo of Mega Drive-style 6-buttoncontrollers actually belonging to a bootleg NES, plus some cables.
Plus, it Help you Learn the Important Computer Skills !
Back of the console box from the previous post, showing some photos of the console and accessories (plus a lightgun not present in the previous photos) and broken English descriptions, plus two taglines in larger font: "MEGA BOOK my first computer !" in the middle and "Help you Learn the Important Computer Skills!" at the bottom.
Browsing a local auction site and it's taking all of my willpower not to buy this bootleg NES shaped like a laptop, complete with a fake Windows "screen" AND a working Tetris-style LCD game embedded in the middle. I can't imagine a more elegant console design.
A Mega Book 9800-AX famiclone console beside its own box and accessories (cables, Genesis-shaped controllers, a bootleg Famicom multicart). The console is shaped like a small laptop, with a keyboard on the bottom, under the Famicom cartridge slot, and detailed artwork on the top lid making it look like a screen with an early Windows-style interface open. Close up on the fake Windows screen from the previous photo. It shows MS Paint-style icons, a calculator, font selection, and descriptions for the keyboards' functions. In the middle of the fake screen there is a real LCD screen, exactly like the ones found in bootleg Tetris-type block games.
Started making a short Mario Artist: Talent Studio animation just to teach myself how to actually use this thing (as opposed to recycling the sample movies) and got a little carried away. Can you believe the N64 has the raw processing power to produce something so beautiful? youtu.be/vSdcCOhndJE
