There might be an insight here for alllll the ‘soft’ sciences who seem perplexingly perplexed by how to get real data without deception. Protect trans people at all costs because we’re not going to survive having electricity if we can’t stop perpetually accusing everyone of ‘fooling’ us/themselves

A lot of places still have a LOT of bums/surplus laborers because (for lack of a better explanation across a lifetime of stealing time from the ‘rat race’ to search for one) …building gardens instead of cannon fodder makes a civilization look ‘ripe for conquest.’ 🫥

A small (2”-3”) Haworthia along a garden path in early October. Unfortunately, it’s not labeled but from the size and leaf characteristics it appears to be a herbacea or reticulata. The distinctive bright yellow bloom makes an outsized statement in the garden. 🌱 #succulents

Howarthia with a yellow bloom tucked between small boulders. This is the second time I've noticed it blooming over the past half dozen years. It's hardy to at least 30 degrees, has no problem with our heavy winter rains.

Libraries/Lists are tangible incarnations of consciousness. They’re always going to be at least a little scary. And it’s ok to use ‘hope’ instead of ‘consciousness’ for this analogy. It’s ok to default to ‘let’s fight this fear’ rather than ‘let’s avoid having to manage people who fear this thing.’
