Just so I'm clear: Trans women are women. Trans men are men. I won't debate this, and I won't hear bullshit arguments. Bathroom bans are bigotry and ignorance. And that's fucking it.

This is a really good idea, but a very bad time for my stash to have very little green yarn.

A thread about brassicas is a really wild way to find out that there are still people who think that traditional plant breeding isn't genetic engineering. xD
moxiegrrl.myatproto.social
I'm not. Because it's literally done the same way in a lab or by cross breeding.

They are freaky, yes. But tasty now.

There's no "regular politics" anymore because you can no longer maintain the idea that we all agree on common goals but we only differ about the means of getting there or whatever. The guys in charge now are plainly amoral, sadistic nihilists. They delight in it! You can't civilly disagree with that

Oh, and if you haven't had brussels sprouts since before the mid 90s you may want to give them another try.
moxiegrrl.myatproto.social
oh man, I love it when people find this out for the first time. Welcome to what genetic engineering has *actually* done for food. (It's also why brussels sprouts taste better now.)

Has anyone compared the Spoonful app to the Fig app when it comes to weird dietary restrictions in particular? Corn/Pork/Black Pepper are my known ones and I need something that can tell me what packaged foods I can and cannot eat a lot easier than reading every fucking label ever.

I don't have a cover. I just wash my duvet. I find it annoying enough now that I have issues with my joints that I might actually buy a fucking cover this year. IT COULD HAPPEN.

It really is stupid being an adult.

I am realizing, as someone who is trying to find a safe meal replacement shake that is *not* low calorie, that there are a lot of 'meal replacement shakes' that are abso-fucking-lutely NOT meal replacements. Holy shit. 150 calories is NOT enough to consider it meal replacement, wellness industry.

I have a refresh setting on my dryer that steams clothing. I may or may not have bought this dryer because I wear linen and it might be the only reason I look less rumpled in it.

Being educated does make you more inclined to critical thinking skills, but that's also a double-edged sword in that it's how the really rich ones come to believe that the stance they've logic-without-empathy'd themselves into is the solution to everything.

This is why I said we should stop saying "DEI" and write out "diversity, equity, and inclusion" in *all* media when we talk about that, too. Saying it in full makes them have to actually confront the reality of what they're really trying to destroy.

The WIP that's getting finished has been in a state of 'just needs sleeves' for over 7 years.
moxiegrrl.myatproto.social
I have achieved three things today that make me happy:

1. I have assessed my various knitting WIPs and decided that most are getting ripped out, but one is getting finished.

2. I have found yarn in my stash for a sweater I wasn't sure I'd have yarn for.

3. I have cleared half the cutting table.

Fall is absolutely my favorite time of year but it sure can knock me flat on my ass with allergies.

Whatever outside is doing is too strong for both Zyrtec and Claritin *at the same time*. Pls send pseudoephedrine and possibly pray to your deity of choice for a freeze.

Turned out better this time than last time. Go fucking figure.

I accidentally put more milk than I intended into my oat cobbler thing I'm making myself for dinner (do not at me, I do not give a fuck) and now I'm patiently hoping it comes out. It's basically baked oats made with oat flour and lightly sugared dark sweet cherries.
moxiegrrl.myatproto.social
Okay, I am almost done with the first sleeve so I'm going to attempt that today, but I feel like death warmed over so we'll see how far I get.

It's beyond time, but people here worship the constitution like it's a holy book of scripture instead of a document that should change with the times if we find better ways.
